India Travel Guides
for all kinds of travelers.
This one’s home, which makes it harder, not easier. This page collects the Indian states I’ve written full guides for — currently Karnataka and Kashmir, with more to follow. The guides cover what each state is best known for in practice: Kashmir’s Dal Lake shikara mornings, Gulmarg’s gondola, and the Srinagar–Pahalgam–Gulmarg loop most travelers do; Karnataka’s own Hampi, the Hoysala temple trail near Hassan, and the Mysore–Bandipur stretch. Each guide leans on real homestay names, monsoon and shoulder-season weather windows, and the inter-city transport that actually exists. Whether you’re planning a first Indian state trip or your tenth, the state pages below are where the specifics live.

FAQs about India
What are the top tourist attractions in India?
There are way too many to list here but the popular ones are Taj Mahal, Jaipur & Udaipur for the forts and palaces, Rishikesh & Varanasi for a spiritual retreat, Goa for beaches, Hampi for the historical ruins, Sikkim, Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh for a mountain retreat and Kashmir for its natural beauty.
Is it safe to travel in India?
India is generally safe for tourists, but it’s important to take standard precautions. Avoid isolated areas and if you are a solo traveller, avoid travelling at night.
